Lutheran Hour Ministries Special Speaker Series

·       Saturday, January 19, 10:00 to 11:00 AM – A Missionary in Times of Disaster, presented by Dr. Lou Jander:

Disasters are times of chaos…times of not knowing…times of fear…times of asking why…times of experiencing loss…times of feeling deserted.  Disasters come in all sizes and shapes from the individual event that affects one person to one that affects a very large area…they can be natural or man-made.  We can be a beacon of light to people during these critical times…we can listen, we can pray, we can serve and we can tell.  During this webinar, we’ll hear the personal experiences that come from disasters and the practical ways that we can share the love of Jesus…we can literally be the “hands and feet” of Jesus.

·       Saturday, February 16, 10:00 to 11:00 AM – Prayer: The Foundation for Mission, presented by Rev. Dale Haberer:

This webinar will look briefly at the nature of prayer.  Prayer is significant because it is the tangible expression of our restored relationship with God that Jesus won for us on the cross.  We have been adopted into the family of God and called to follow Jesus into mission.  These two things being the case, what role does prayer have in my personal life and in the life of the church?  We will look at how Jesus used prayer and what it means for us as we follow him as his redemptive community.
